PageOne is highly commended at 3GSM Awards — February 2006
London
17th February 2006 - PageOne, TH Communication parent company and the UK's
foremost supplier of wireless messaging technology and services, announces
that its work with Birmingham's Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust in Teenage
Pregnancy Antenatal care, achieved 'Highly Commended' status in the 2006
GSM Association Awards.
The 'Best Mobile Community Service or Initiative' category highlighted community work undertaken by companies in the mobile sector.
Already the recipient of the 'All Parliamentary Group on Maternity award for innovative practices', the scheme uses PageOne's Connect service (Connect is a desktop, web-based mobile messaging system capable of connecting with all paging, mobile and e-mail networks). This service has enabled pregnant teenagers to receive antenatal clinic reminders and health tips via their mobile phones, and allows midwives to stay in touch with the teenagers in between clinical visits. Important advice on diet, smoking, alcohol and other issues affecting pregnancy is also provided through the scheme. The system reinforces to the teenagers that there are people who are interested in their well-being and who want to make the experience of pregnancy as easy and comfortable as possible for them.
